Barcelona

Tuesday, me and my girl Lan got this idea that we would go somewhere for the weekend. She's in France studying French and I'm in Holland...so Paris was one of the suggestion...and then we got this bright idea...BARCELONA!
So I got up at 4.00am saturday morning and got a ride with my nice roomate who drove me. Arrived in Barcelona at 09.00am and realised that I have forgotten all information about the hotel, what train and metro to take...so I called my friend Alfonso, and he promissed that we woudl go for a breakfast and he could tell me what to do in Barcelona...so i called him, hoping that he would tell me where to go...ring ring ring...no answer....Shit, what was I supposed to do??? So I started to remember something called CLOT and that the hotel was just accross the street from CLOT. Finally I ended up at CLOT (metro station) and no later tha 2,5 hours after I arrived at the airport. Man I must be the quickest confused person ever...LOL. Checked in, got up on the roof terrass and laid by the pool. Me like. Lan arrived at 1.00pm so after that we started to walk....Sagrada Familia was our first stop...then we saw everything...everything but Camp Nou :(

Insurance

I just found out that I don't have any insurance playing ball here in Holland. In Sweden I have 6 different insurances, for my home, for my work in Sweden, for my being stationed in Holland, for business trips, private trips and one for accidens like if I would get sick or die. And on top of this I have a company insurance here in Holland if I would get sick when I'm working. That many insurances in Sweden but none will cover me as an athlete playing basketball. For that it takes a special athlets insurance which should be covered by the team. So good I thought, the team here in Holland can insure me. But NO! Since I'm not registered in Holland, their athleth insurance doesn't cover me. That's fucking wack. And I don't wanna hoop uninsured. Imagine if I would get injured bad, that I need a surgery or anything, without any insurance. I don't wanna end up like the lil' dude below here...

What should I do? I can't manage being in Holland for 6 more months and no basketball. I will go crazy...

Barcelona?

What do I need to see when I'm in Barcelona?
Anyone got any good ideas? Like something you have to do when you're there...

Me and my girl Lan will go there for the weekend. She's studying in Montpellier in France and I wanted to go to Paris first...but it didn't beat Barcelona since I never been to Spain. So last weekend I'm free, then I have basketball EVERY weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, games or practices.

Beep test

Feels good to have completed the first bball practice of the year. And to our surprise we got to run the BEEP TEST...of the SHUTTLE RUN TEST as the coach said. Gaaaaah, I hate that test...I feel sick just thinking of the test. Not sure what level I got to cause the voice was speaking dutch, there was music in between the beeps and yeah... Just a weird beep test if I may say so. I thought I had the worse condition of us all, but I was kinda ok...LOL

Denver

So finally I bought some new bball shoes that I might wear...lol. I always make the misstake by buying too "heavy" shoes that I don't like to run in. But these new KOBE Hyperdunk might be a winner. At least I hope so cause I bought them today.

Oh I forgot to write that I'm in Denver, Colorado. We went to the gym and shot some hoops. Shit I'm starting to get used to the Men's ball. Gotta get on the court in Sweden and hoop some with the Women's ball. At least I know that I'll be working out with my old team while I'm in Sweden. Oh, got a msg from my old coach, the clearance paper from the Dutch Basketball association was signed last week...so I'm good to play now.

New faces in Binnenland

http://www.eurobasket.com/NED/NED.asp?NewsNo=10&women=1

by Eurobasket News - Jun 17, 2008
Renes Binnenland started to shape up for the upcoming season. The last season could hardly be called successful for the team as they finished the regular season at 6-18 record at the 8th spot in the ladder. They were later swept by the Yellow Bike in the opening round of playoffs. So now the team is trying to bolster the quad to improve on the result. Binnenland added some new players to the roster in recent weeks. Firstly the team returned Mirelle Lagendijk (180-G-86).

They were later swept by the Yellow Bike in the opening round of playoffs. So now the team is trying to bolster the quad to improve on the result. Binnenland added some new players to the roster in recent weeks. Firstly the team returned Mirelle Lagendijk (180-G-86). The 23-year-old guard spent the first two years of her career in Binnenland before moving to Yellow Bike last year. She won the Eredivisie with the new side but decided to come back to Renes Binnenland for the upcoming season.
Binnenland also added Martina Bergman to the squad. The 27-year-old guard/forward from Sweden will join the team next month. Originally from Korea Berman studied in well-known Sanda Basket Basketball School in Sweden. She later had stints with Ockelbo Basket and Hogsbo Basket at home.
Moreover Binnenland agreed on terms of contract with young talented centre Michele Visser (191-C-87). The 21-year-old prospect played for the Dutch U20 National team. She participated at the U20 European championship in Division B in Lithuania with Netherlands in 2006. There she averaged 1.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Renes Binnenland will become the first Eredivisie stop for the youngster.

Did you see my name? :D
